Meet Frank

Frank is the other half of Let There Be Art Studio and the artist behind most of the bold monster paintings you'll find throughout the shop.

His work mixes horror, pop culture, cryptids, cartoons, and a healthy amount of Appalachian weirdness into a style that's impossible to mistake for anyone else's. If it has giant teeth, glowing eyes, or looks like it escaped from a late-night creature feature, there's a good chance Frank painted it.

Frank has a remarkable ability to make absolutely anything look like it's surviving purely out of spite. His monsters, robots, cryptids, rats, frogs, and even pumpkins all share one common trait: they look exactly one second away from an existential crisis and desperately clinging to their last cigarette. Most of his characters are exhausted, mildly inconvenienced, and completely unhinged... and we wouldn't have it any other way. Have I mentioned that he's also hilarious?

Together, we create original artwork that's colorful, creepy, nostalgic, and just plain fun.

Meet Ashley

i! I'm Ashley, one half of Let There Be Art Studio.

I create colorful, weird, and slightly unhinged artwork inspired by Appalachian folklore, cryptids, old horror movies, vintage toys, thrift store treasures, and anything else that makes me smile.

Every piece starts as a traditional drawing or painting before finding its way onto stickers, prints, and other fun things. I love bright colors, spooky creatures, and the kind of art that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Living in the mountains of West Virginia, I'm constantly inspired by the stories, legends, and odd little moments that make Appalachia feel magical. Around here, you never know what might be hiding in the woods—or inside an old television.

When I'm not making art, you'll usually find me homeschooling my kids, reading mystery novels, sewing quilts, or convincing myself I definitely don't need another thrift store project.
